The one highlight on Saturday for the New York Islanders came in the form of the captain.
John Tavares scored at 10:48 of the second period against the Bruins in Boston today, but it wasn’t just a normal goal. This tally was the captain’s 200th goal of his young NHL career.
Although the Tavares goal knotted the game up at 1-1, the Bruins’ David Pastrnak put home his 11th of the season with just nine seconds to go in the second period to provide his team with a lead they would not relinquish.
Pastrnak added on another in the third for comfort.
3 Stars of the Game:
- D. Pastrnak (Bruins – LW): Goals: 2, Assists: 0
- L. Eriksson (Bruins – LW): Goals: 1, Assists: 2
- T. Rask (Bruins – G): Saves: 25, Save Pct.: .962
