The pressure mounts on the New York Knicks as David Fizdale’s squad loses another winnable game by double-digits.

In their first meeting, one held at Madison Square Garden, the New York Knicks took down the Chicago Bulls by way of a Bobby Portis fourth-quarter flurry.
This time, in the United Center, the Bulls turned the tables. Rookie Coby White went off for 23 points, including seven made threes, in the quarter. White hadn’t made a field goal in the first three quarters, but he was practically unconscious in the final frame.

The icing on the cake came in the final two minutes. White shook off RJ Barrett to drain a stepback three to give Chicago a 20-point lead. Barrett came down and shot an airball on the other end as a response.
The toughest part about the loss for the Knicks is that they were knotted up at 85 after three quarters. The ball movement was better and Knicks big men were actually making solid contact on screens. The offense was far from perfect, but it looked like things were trending in the right direction.

However, thanks to White’s explosion, the Knicks were outscored by 18 points in the fourth en route to another brutal loss. New York is still struggling to put together a full four quarters of basketball.
The loss puts the Knicks at 2-9 on the season and there is clearly some pressure on head coach David Fizdale to turn things around—and quickly. General manager Scott Perry and team president Steve Mills made that much clear during their impromptu press conference after Sunday’s loss.
A rematch with Kristaps Porzingis and the Dallas Mavericks looms. The Knicks will host their former franchise cornerstone on Thursday in the Garden (8 p.m. ET).
