The New York Yankees have acquired veteran outfielder Terrance Gore from the Kansas City Royals for cash considerations.

Moves have been made in the Bronx ahead of the July 31 trade deadline.

On Wednesday, the Kansas City Royals traded outfielder Terrance Gore to the New York Yankees for cash considerations. Gore will now report to Triple-A Scranton/Wikes-Barre.

The Royals designated Gore for assignment last Friday.

Through 37 games for Kansas City this season, Gore hit .275 with just one RBI. It’s the only RBI he’s had in his major league career. In 100-career games in the majors, Gore is batting an average of .224.

Gore additionally had stolen 13 bases for Kansas City this year through 58 plate appearances.

The 28-year-old will start in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre due to the fact that the Yankees roster is filled at the moment, especially when it comes to the outfield position. They have Brett Gardner, Aaron Hicks, and Aaron Judge manning the 7-8-9 positions, respectively. The Bombers also have Giancarlo Stanton and Cameron Maybin on the injured list and will look to bring them back as soon as possible.

The Royals drafted Gore in the 20th round of the 2011 MLB Draft. He made his major league debut in August of 2014. Gore stuck with the Royals organization until 2018, having won a World Series ring in 2015 in the process. Kansas City traded him to the Chicago Cubs in August of 2018 in exchange for cash considerations.

In December of last year, Gore signed a one-year deal to return to the Royals after becoming an unrestricted free agent following the 2018 season.
