Clint Frazier drills HR for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (Video)
Minor league outfielder Clint Frazier’s home run to center field for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre left the ballpark in a hurry.
[sc name=”Ryan Honey Banner”]In June, the New York Yankees made the decision to option outfielder Clint Frazier to the minor leagues. With Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton returning from the injured list at the time, the Yankees needed to move someone.
Ever since, Frazier has been doing what he can to get back to the majors, as he’s been playing ball for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
On Wednesday, Frazier made a case for himself in the batter’s box when he slapped one over the centerfielder’s head for a home run.

In 53 games for the Yankees this year, Frazier was hitting .283 with 11 home runs and 34 runs batted in. However, he had problems in the field. Frazier had three errors in 29 games in right field.
Frazier was ultimately surprised and unhappy when the Yanks optioned him to Scranton, but that’s an understandable reaction for any major leaguer.
[sc name=”Yankees Center” ]The Yanks may consider using him as a trade chip as the July 31 trade deadline approaches. The Bombers could be looking for a starting pitcher in order to add some firepower to their rotation en route to World Series Title.
New York Mets righty Zack Wheeler could be an option, but it would be tough to trade a potential big bat like Frazier for a rental. Wheeler’s contract expires at the end of this season.
The Yanks could, however, also look to use Frazier in a trade for Mets righty Noah Syndergaard. The veteran starting pitcher is under arbitration through the 2021 season.
