The New York Giants have re-signed veteran defensive back Antonio Hamilton, who appeared in 13 games for Big Blue in 2018.
Big Blue has brought back one of their defensive backs and special teamers.
On Thursday, per a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, the New York Giants have re-signed DB Antonio Hamilton. The contract details have yet to be revealed. This upcoming season will be Hamilton’s fourth in the NFL.

Hamilton was an undrafted free agent out of South Carolina State in 2016. He spent his first two years in the NFL playing for the Oakland Raiders. Hamilton appeared in four games for the Raiders in his rookie season, and then eight games in 2017. He spent half of the 2017 regular season on IR due to a knee injury that sidelined him for eight games.
The young defensive back racked up four combined tackles as a rookie in 2016 and then 11 combined tackles.
Hamilton was picked up by the Giants off waivers in September of 2018 and proved to be a reliable asset on special teams. He racked up six tackles through 13 games for the Giants.
Big Blue decided not to tender Hamilton as an exclusive-rights free agent last week. The Giants recently tendered and then re-signed K Aldrick Rosas, FB Elijhaa Penny and C Jon Halapio.
Hamilton will rejoin the Giants looking to improve his game as both a special teams player as well as a defensive back on this team. He’ll once again play alongside Pro Bowl special teams player Michael Thomas, who will play his second season for the Giants in 2019.
Hamilton will also rejoin a defensive backs group that includes CB Janoris Jenkins, S Antoine Bethea and S Jabrill Peppers. Possibly, Hamilton will get some playing time at the corner position or maybe even in nickel sets as the deep safety.
