Despite yet another disappointing season for the New York Knicks, their personnel is receiving some real interest. Rumor is around the league that several teams are in the running for Michael Beasley.
When New York Knicks‘ prime star, Kristaps Porzingis, went down, the season was pretty much over. Some names stepped up to replace his presence and one of those names was Michael Beasley. The forward put on some stellar performances that have caught the eye of several teams including the Atlanta Hawks and Phoenix Suns.
According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, five teams are in the running for Beasley’s services. The dilemma in all of this, the Knicks definitely want him back in the Garden. It may be hard for a team like the Knicks to convince a player to stay, especially with Porzingis’ timetable in the air.
Sources close to Berman also say that Beasley is familiar with the Atlanta area and if the Hawks throw more money, Beasley would likely be moving. The Knicks would have to give up almost $8.5 million for the forward and for a one-year deal, it can be done.
Although there is interest in Beasley around the league, take these reports with a grain of salt according to Arizona Sports 98.7 radio host, John Gambadoro.

Beasley put up more than decent numbers with the Knicks averaging 13.2 points with 5.6 rebounds while starting in 30 games. Beasley hasn’t put up numbers like that since his first year with the Minnesota Timberwolves back in the 2010-2011 season. The small forward really stepped up for the Knicks and became an instant fan favorite. Even to bring him back for one more year and hoping the Latvian stud comes back early enough, they can be a dynamic duo.
Porzingis’ injury doesn’t help the Knicks’ pitch in bringing back Beasley, but the David Fizdale hiring sure does. Sources have stated that Beasley is intrigued to work with Fizdale, but in the end—he’ll go with the higher number.
