Alex Rodriguez has another new job, yet again replacing Aaron Boone. He will join ESPN as an in-booth analyst for “Sunday Night Baseball.”
Alex Rodriguez is replacing Aaron Boone, again.
But this time, it’s in the booth, rather than at third base for the New York Yankees, as was the case in early 2004.
During a slow offseason, ESPN made a big splash as the three-time AL Most Valuable Player will reportedly be the newest addition of ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball crew as an analyst, a title that the new Yankee manager held for the previous two seasons.
Boone was recently named the new Yankees’ manager after the team decided against renewing Joe Girard’s contract, leaving ESPN in another hole with the program, as Dan Schulman will not return as the play-by-play announcer.

The position with ESPN will be on the long list of ventures Rodriguez has partaken in since being released by the Yankees in August of 2016, which essentially led to his retirement, in baseball, entrepreneurship, and in the dating world.
For starters, he’s dating Jennifer Lopez, which is pretty cool. But A-Rod Corp. has been a project Rodriguez has been working on since 2003 and has seemingly taken it much more seriously since retirement.
The 14-time All-Star also has since been a postseason regular on FOX Sports has a studio analyst, along with Frank Thomas, Pete Rose and David Ortiz.
Rodriguez joined Kevin Burkhardt in the booth for a Yankees-Royals game on FS1 as an analyst last May, and he even was a guest shark on ABC’s Shark Tank.
Rodriguez will keep his position with the network, despite the new position with ESPN.
ESPN is still looking for a lead play-by-play announcer on Sunday nights, but Chris Cotillo reported that MLB Network’s Matt Vasgersian will take the position, with the broadcast’s lineup being Vasgersian, A-Rod, and Jessica Mendoza.
