The New York Knicks continued their road struggles on Wednesday in a loss to the Bulls due to poor late-game execution.

Maybe the Knicks should stop letting Michael Beasley inbound the ball in big spots. That seems like a good idea.

Less than a week ago, this team beat the elite Boston Celtics. But that was at home. In Chicago on Wednesday night, they were a different team. They struggled to execute down the stretch; scoring just one point in the final 4:24 of the game. The Knicks lost to the lowly Bulls, 92-87.

New York is the worst road team in the NBA. There’s no doubt about it. You take this squad out of the friendly confines of Madison Square Garden and they can’t cut it. Wednesday night was just more proof. The Knicks have a road problem. After tonight’s loss, their record as a visitor slips to 2-11.

It was another tough outing for Kristaps Porzingis. He finished with 23 points but shot just 9-of-22 from the field including 1-of-6 from three-point range. When the team needed a bucket down the stretch, he wasn’t able to provide.

Enes Kanter couldn’t stay on the court late as the Bulls went small with their leading scorer, Nikola Mirotic. New York’s starting center played just 22 minutes Wednesday and had arguably his worst game with the team; posting only four points on 2-of-7 shooting.

Even the typically efficient Courtney Lee struggled to keep up his typical play. He made just 7 of his 18 attempts and finished with only 17 points. Doug McDermott — in his first start with the Knicks — played 37 minutes and finished with three points. It was a bad night for everyone.

It was only the fourth time the Knicks have scored fewer than 90 points this season. The other three games were in October and November. New York thought they were past the bad habits they had back then. Let’s hope that’s the case.
