In the last game of the South Side series against the Chicago White Sox, Ivan Nova and the New York Yankees take care of business.
It’s not that the New York Yankees needed to save face on Sunday after two straight losses, but it’s nice to get back to pounding teams into submission.
12-runs were scored on the South Side of Chicago against the White Sox in their blowout victory.

Mark Teixeira once again made great use of the term “Tex-Message,” blasting his 29th home run of the season in the fifth-inning off Chicago starter Jeff Samardzija.

Speaking of the former Notre Dame wide-out, his Sunday afternoon didn’t go as planned. He relented nine earned runs off eight Yankee hits over 4.2 innings.
Yankees starter Ivan Nova was solid through six innings of work in picking up the win. Nova struck out seven and only allowing a single run.

The win puts the Yanks at 59-45 on the season, still holding a pretty nice lead in the AL East.
Next up will be the Boston Red Sox in the Bronx after a well deserved off-day tomorrow.
