The New Jersey Devils will play in split-squad games Monday, with Jack Hughes debuting at the Prudential Center against the Boston Bruins.

Jack Hughes and his New Jersey Devils will have their first taste of on-ice action against players wearing different jerseys on Monday.

The Devils will play at the Prudential Center, taking on the Boston Bruins. A second squad of Devils will head to Montreal to play the Canadiens.

Hughes, 18, was the first overall selection in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.

After a summer of talking about what Hughes can bring to this team, the organization and its fan base will finally see the youngster in action.

Hughes will center a line with Nikita Gusev and Wayne Simmonds. This is the same line that played together in Sunday’s intrasquad game.

P.K. Subban will make his Devils debut in the home contest. The three-time All-Star defenseman will pair with Sami Vatanen.

Lineup vs. Bruins

Nikita Gusev – Jack Hughes – Wayne Simmonds
Jesper Bratt – Travis Zajac – Jesper Boqvist
Miles Wood – Mikhail Maltsev – Joey Anderson
Marian Studenic – Yegor Sharangovich – Graeme Clarke

Sami Vatanen – P.K. Subban

Schneider and Senn are expected to split time in net against Boston. Taylor Hall will not play in either preseason game as the team has a different date in mind for his start to the preseason.

The Devils’ home game starts at 7:00 p.m. ET, with the game in Montreal beginning at 7:30 p.m.
