West Ham United, Olympique Lyonnais and Fiorentina are reportedly interested in New York Red Bulls defender Aaron Long.

Some said it was Southampton. others guessed the Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Stop the guessing game at Wolverhampton; we don’t have to throw team names out anymore. The secret has been revealed.

Skysports reported that the Premier League team who wants to acquire New York Red Bulls star centre-back, Aaron Long, is West Ham United.

Commentator Brian Dunseth, who was the first one to report that European teams are interested in Long, also tweeted that the 26-year-old’s English suitor is West Ham.

Furthermore, Sky Sports noted that two other teams who want to ink Long are Italian side Fiorentina and French giants Olympique Lyonnais.

According to Pro Soccer USA reporter Dylan Butler, the offer was for less than $3 million. However, Long’s release clause is $5 million.

RBNY rejected all of the initial offers, saying they weren’t interested in selling their defender, per Jeff Carlisle of ESPN. Nevertheless, a move might happen in the winter.

West Ham finished the 2018-19 Premier League campaign in 10th place. Meanwhile, Lyon ended their last domestic season in third place, which earned them a spot in the UEFA Champions League qualification stages.

Fiorentina, on the other hand, ended their last domestic campaign in 16th position.

Long’s next match with the Red Bulls is on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. ET away from home at Exploria Stadium. The 26-year-old is the reigning MLS Defender of the Year and made the 2019 Gold Cup Best XI.
