RJ Barrett’s 78 in NBA 2K20 is respectable rating for a rookie, but the New York Knicks voiced their displeasure via social media.
The new NBA 2K20 game, which will be released on Sept. 2, released their full player ratings on Monday. And, well, some think New York Knicks rookie RJ Barrett was given an unfair rating.
Video game ratings are meaningless, but they always seem to garner a reaction via social media.
Barrett is a 78, despite having been the No. 3 overall pick and playing fairly well in the Las Vegas Summer League. However, the Knicks were quick to voice their displeasure via social media.

The Knicks didn’t exactly follow the rule of the 2K tweet, being that it said: “Comment if fair.” Nonetheless, the Knicks weren’t happy with the ultimate rating.
Through five games in Las Vegas Summer League, Barrett averaged 15.4 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists on 34% shooting. He’s now the first player in Vegas Summer League history to average more than 15 points, eight rebounds and four assists.
The Knicks, as a whole, didn’t impress much in Vegas, however. They finished in 14th place in the league with a record of 2-3.
As the No. 3 pick, Barrett is expected to come in and be an effective asset for the Knicks roster that’ll see a ton of new faces this year.
This offseason, the Knicks signed a slew of veterans including Julius Randle, Wayne Ellington, Taj Gibson, Elfrid Payton, Bobby Portis, and Reggie Bullock. They’ll be looking to take a substantial leap forward from last year where they saw their worst record in franchise history at 17-65.
