Kevin Durant had to leave his Western Conference Semifinals game after suffering a strange non-contact injury.

Kevin Durant calmly ripped through towards the baseline, took one dribble, and rose up for a contested make. However, as he started running back on defense, he felt something strange, and pulled up lame.

These type of non-contact injuries are always scary. TNT analyst and NBA legend Reggie Miller didn’t sound optimistic when he saw it happen.

Hopefully, Durant is alright and this is only a minor scare. He has existed on another plane of existence these playoffs and it would be a shame to see an injury end his season.

Allie LaForce of TNT reported that the official word coming from the Golden State Warriors is that Durant suffered from a right calf strain. He won’t return to Wednesday night’s game.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the injury doesn’t appear to be an Achilles injury. That is excellent news considering the brutal nature of that type of injury.

Durant is performing like the superstar he is and is lined up to be the most coveted free agent this summer. An injury is the last thing anyone wants to see to such a gifted player looking to secure a long-term deal.

Hopefully, this injury isn’t as serious as it looked at first. According to Chris B. Haynes of Yahoo Sports, Durant will undergo an MRI Thursday on his right calf.

More to come on this developing story.
