The Joe Budden video that has the entertainer on the brink of shock after the New York Giants selected Daniel Jones is beyond perfect.
Rarely can a video perfectly embody an entire group of individuals yet somehow, some way, Joe Budden did exactly that on Thursday night.
After the New York Giants shocking selection of Daniel Jones in the six-hole of the 2019 NFL Draft, the entertainer was caught on camera with emotions that could only be described as disbelief (video above).
If slowed down, you can see the exact moment Budden’s heart was ripped from his chest cavity. It’s subtle yet so apparent. Take notice once he actually processes reality around the seven-second mark. Budden attempts to process the startling information while holding out hope it was all one giant mistake.
The camera operator was tremendous. Though she missed the initial reaction, ensuring his breathless moves were caught on camera is a move that progresses society tenfold.
To top it off, check out the youngster. Completely unaware of the travesty that had just unfolded, young Budden (presumably) is completely transfixed on the bouncing and catching up with his ball while daddy melts in the corner of the room.
Jones, 21, is an Eli Manning clone in the eyes of many. (Well, the Duke product is a clone by way of looks and personality.) The two quarterbacks’ games couldn’t be more different.
Manning remains a tremendous deep-ball thrower. It’s what he thrived upon with the run-and-shoot principled Kevin Gilbride calling plays during the championship runs. Jones is used to a quick, three-step offense that forces fast decisions. His arm talent isn’t excellent and his deep-ball accuracy is a major question.
Reactions across the world were splendid. Elsewhere, SNY analyst and former New York Jets quarterback, Ray Lucas, broke in out in hysterics once the Duke quarterback was called. While golden, nothing compares to the Budden beauty. This one couldn’t describe an entire collection of fan emotions as great as it did.
All New York Football Giants fans are Joe Budden right now.
