Odell Beckham Jr. took to Instagram to post a message to Giants fans and discuss his “mixed emotions and feelings.”

It’s been an absolute whirlwind of a week for New York sports fans. But perhaps the biggest story of the week came when news broke that the New York Giants were trading Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns.

On Thursday, OBJ posted a heartfelt message about his tenure in New York. He took the opportunity to shout out everyone in the Giants organization. He also thanked all the Giants fans, regardless of whether they loved or hated him.

OBJ is handling this the correct way while the Giants are acting like a petulant bunch. Beckham has nothing but kind things to say about the organization and its fans. On the other hand, the Giants are leaking information that the impetus for the trade was because Beckham was a “pain in the ass.”

Teams will always slander players on their way out, but it’s nice to see OBJ take the high road and move on graciously.

Beckham’s departure has rocked the fan base. It comes as no surprise, but nearly every Giant fan you talk to has a strong opinion on this trade one way or another.

Likewise, the media is split on this deal as well. While some believe trading away a talent like Beckham is unacceptable, others think the Giants made the right call by moving on from the mercurial wide receiver.

If nothing else, Beckham’s tenure with the Giants will always be remembered for the sensational highlight-reel plays on the field. Not to mention, Beckham always seemed to make headlines for his antics as well.

For every one-handed grab for a touchdown, there was a head-scratching moment where OBJ could be seen attacking a kicking net. Of course, most teams can live with the silliness on the sidelines when it’s backed up by Beckham-like production on the field.
