The Toronto Blue Jays are focused on finalizing a deal that will send J.A. Happ to the New York Yankees.

It seems like Brian Cashman has already struck.

According to Steve Phillips of the MLB Network, the Toronto Blue Jays are focused on finalizing a deal that would send left-handed pitcher J.A. Happ to the New York Yankees.

“Sources indicate that Jays focusing on finalizing deal with Yankees for JA Happ.”

Jon Heyman of Fancred reports that there’s currently no deal in place.

“There are said to still be multiple teams in the bidding for Jays. Yanks have long been considered a favorite, but they seem unaware they are getting him, as of this moment. suggested they are in lead and there’s a focus on finalizing with Yanks.”

Earlier Wednesday night, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reported that the Yanks were one of two front-runners for Happ’s services.

The Milwaukee Brewers are the other so-called “front-runner” while the Chicago Cubs have also checked in Happ’s teammate, Marcus Stroman, and some believe they may have dropped Happ’s name as a man of interest as well.
