Just hours after Dez Bryant was released from the Dallas Cowboys, New York Jets safety Jamal Adams took to Twitter to start his recruitment.

Man, Jamal Adams has been on the New York Jets for one season and he’s already their biggest recruiter. Well, it’s through social media but still.

After the Dallas Cowboys released Dez Bryant on Friday afternoon, multiple NFL teams were on the phones, talking about the potential of bringing in the diva wide receiver for next season.

Jamal Adams, however, did his recruitment a different and smarter way.

Adams posted his desire to have Bryant come to the Jets on Twitter, a website that Bryant frequents, so he’ll be likely to see.

Adding in Dez’s hashtag? A nice touch from the 22-year-old. But Adams isn’t the only one recruiting the 29-year-old who exits at the top of the leaderboard of Dallas Cowboys touchdown catches in history.

Tyrann Mathieu also has made moves on Twitter, after he was released by the Arizona Cardinals and signed by the Houston Texans. 23-year-old Jalen Ramsey is also petitioning for Bryant to make the move to Jacksonville. Anthony Adams is calling for Dez to make the trek to Chicago and Jermichael Finley is hoping Dez will get revenge on that new catch rule in Green Bay.

But Adams has a point. While Dez Bryant has fallen off over the past few seasons, he definitely has potential to be a strong veteran presence for a team on the verge of becoming something great.

The Jets have made moves to bring in veteran wide receivers (Jermaine Kearse and Terrelle Pryor) and has a nice core group of young receivers (led by Robby Anderson) but none of them have the talent that Bryant has down during his time with the Cowboys.

Again, the stats have fallen off recently but he can certainly be an asset with a quarterback who isn’t afraid to throw downfield.

Time will tell, but Adams is already en route to bringing the monster free agent to the Big Apple.
