The New York Giants are set to meet with Bradley Chubb, who many believe is the best defensive prospect in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Things appear to be heating up with NC State’s Bradley Chubb and the New York Giants. According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, Big Blue will meet with the dynamic defender on Thursday.

Chubb is one of the top prospects in the 2018 NFL Draft and someone the Giants are clearly considering with the second overall pick.

Paul Schwartz of the New York Post reported last month that Chubb was one of the top-three players, alongside Penn State running back Saquon Barkley and Notre Dame guard Quenton Nelson that the Giants were targeting with the No. 2 pick.

Chubb is far and away the best pass rusher in the draft. The North Carolina State University alum could very well be the first defensive player selected in this year’s draft.

Some, like ESPN’s Louis Riddick, believe Chubb is a better and more complete player than last year’s No. 1 pick, Myles Garrett.

Along with superior pass rushing abilities, Chubb is very stout against the run, making him an every-down defender.

When the Giants introduced their new coaching staff on Wednesday, Bettcher spoke about how he doesn’t know yet what scheme the Giants will play in this upcoming season.

“Right now, if you ask me who we are on defense, I have no clue,” Bettcher said per Art Stapleton of Northjersey.com. “I think each and every down we might look different.”

Regardless of what type of scheme the Giants defense will play under this season, Chubb can be an impact player for Big Blue in their front seven.

He can provide the Giants with another good pass rusher to go along with Olivier Vernon on the outside, while also helping the G-Men get better at defending the run.

Chubb isn’t the only top-flight prospect the Giants are bringing in for a visit.

Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk reported this week that sources told him the Giants will host the top-four quarterback prospects in the draft Josh Allen, Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen and Baker Mayfield in the coming weeks.

ESPN’s Dianna Russini also reports the Giants will bring in Barkley for a visit this upcoming weekend.

Thursday will mark exactly three weeks until the 2018 NFL Draft.
