We’re simply waiting on confirmation from clubs but the deal is as good as done. Giancarlo Stanton to the New York Yankees is sparking some great reactions on Twitter.
Today might as well be December 25th, as New York Yankees fans woke up like little kids on Christmas morning. Why? Because Giancarlo Stanton is on his way to the Bronx!
Of course, there have been mixed reactions on social media in regards to the blockbuster trade in the works. Some salty Boston Red Sox fans have had a word in it too, but when do we listen to that talk?
Regardless, this morning has been absolutely littered with player reactions to this potential trade that could rock the entire baseball world. Let’s take a look at some of the more prominent reactions to Stanton’s move.
Sonny Gray:
Patiently waiting ????
— Sonny Gray (@SonnyGray2) December 9, 2017
His future teammate is making it clear that he is literally salivating over the idea of having Giancarlo Stanton in his lineup.
Maybe I’m reading too far into this but to me, it seems as though he’s literally BEGGING for some run support. Hopefully adding another power bat will bring him some runs during his starts.
But Gray is clearly excited. What about other Yankees players?
Didi Gregorius:
@AaronBoone Hey Skip am i still batting 4th ??? pic.twitter.com/oUadnUmf7i
— Sir Didi Gregorius (@DidiG18) December 9, 2017
Instead of a welcome message to his new teammate, Didi Gregorius is concerned about his spot in the lineup.
I mean, Didi earned that spot fair and square. You saw his power show in Game 5 of the ALDS this season. We saw his power all season long, as he crushed 25 home runs in the process.
Plus, the new Yankees manager has a Twitter. That makes for something interesting down the road.
Tyler Wade:
Early Christmas present…???
— Tyler Wade (@_tylerwade) December 9, 2017
Now Tyler Wade gets to join in on the fun. He’s keeping his fingers crossed that this deal gets made because who doesn’t want Santa to come early?
While Wade didn’t get to make too many starts for the Yankees, he got time at second base last season and if Starlin Castro goes in this deal, he might see some more time on the field.
So, yeah, I’d be rooting for this trade to happen too!
Marcus Stroman:
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaa. AL East heating up. I like that. Can’t wait to face @Giancarlo818 in NY! @BlueJays
— Marcus Stroman (@MStrooo6) December 9, 2017
Let’s stray from the Yankees narrative and let’s see how it affects the rest of the baseball world. Marcus Stroman is clearly ecstatic to be able to face Stanton and shut him down.
We’ll see about that, Stroman. We’ll see about that.
The reactions are sure to pick up once the deal is confirmed. For right now, all we can do is sit back and keep refreshing Twitter to see what will be said about this trade next.
