The New Jersey Devils are in the market for an emergency goalie. Think you have what it takes to suit up?

The NHL is now requiring all home teams to have an emergency goaltender in attendance at every game in the event that either the home or visiting team should need a netminder in an emergency situation. On Saturday, Sept. 23 at 1 p.m. ET, the Devils will hold tryouts at the Prudential Center.

This would be a good time to queue the “A-Team” music. So, if you’re between the ages of 18-to-35, have played a level past high school or youth hockey and can attend most of the New Jersey Devils home games you can tryout to be an emergency goalie. This is not fake news, fans. This is for real and a needed position.

If you are interested you have until Monday, Sept. 18 to apply for the tryout. So if you ever dreamed of playing in the NHL, here is your shot.  Good luck.
