News has come down on New York Rangers’ Henrik Lundqvist, Rick Nash, Michael Grabner and Jesper Fast. There’s good and bad news.
It now seems like a million years ago that Alain Vigneault‘s New York Rangers were healthy and flying. Obviously, in October they were healthy and flying, scoring over four goals a game. Then, a little over a month ago, again, they were healthy. The flying could be debated.
Now, they’re a M.A.S.H. unit and the most recent bomb is discouraging.
Starting goalie Henrik Lundqvist missed his team’s last game, a 4-3 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes two night ago due to a lower-body injury. On Saturday, it was announced he’ll miss the next two-to-three weeks with the very same, “detailed” lower-body injury.

Magnus Hellberg has been recalled from the Harford Wolfpack.

The good news on the injury front is both Rick Nash and Michael Grabner are skating with the club.

Both Nash and Grabner have missed several games leading up to the present time.
Another dash of good news is grinder and everyman player Jesper Fast is skating with a non-contact jersey:

Fast has been out the last couple of weeks due to an injury sustained on an Alex Ovechkin hit. Some argue the importance of Mr. Fast is of the utmost priority. He simply does all of the things the other Rangers forwards cannot due. He’s the glue that holds the 12-man forward unit together.
But I digress …
The Rangers will be back in action Sunday night when they take on the Detroit Red Wings in Hockeytown.
