Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks received the loudest boos of the season on Monday when the Los Angeles Lakers embarrassed them.
- New York Knicks 107 (22-31)
- Los Angeles Lakers 121 (18-36)

- Madison Square Garden, New York, NY
Finally, New York Knicks point guard Derrick Rose returned from a four-game absence on Monday night when his team welcomed in the young Los Angeles Lakers to The Mecca.
Sadly, it didn’t help Jeff Hornacek‘s squad one bit. In fact, this 121-107 loss represents the absolute low point of the Knickerbockers season.
From wire-to-wire, start-to-finish, New York was thoroughly outplayed to the point that the Big Apple hardwood fans rained down boos that would’ve made the decibel level of CenturyLink Field blush.
Backup point guard Louis Williams led the Lakers with 22 points. He provided energy off the bench for a squad that outscored the flat home team 29-19 after one quarter of play and 16 total points at halftime.
Carmelo Anthony led the way for the Knicks. He poured in 26 on an efficient 10-of-16 from the floor. Unfortunately, he was the only Knicks scorer who got it done on this night. Kristaps Porzingis was horrid (16 points, 5-4), as was D-Rose (five points, 2-8).
Saying New York’s defensive effort was poor would be the understatement of this NBA season.
Next up for the pitiful Knicks will be the Los Angeles Clippers at home on Wednesday night.
