New York Rangers: A dirty hit on Skjei leads to a Chris Kreider PP goal (Video)

Chris Kreider and the New York Rangers power play makes the Winnipeg Jets pay after a dirty hit sent young Brady Skjei into the boards.

This is exactly the type of hit the National Hockey League wants to remove from the game, and who can blame them? When a player is vulnerable skating into those rock solid boards that don’t provide any flexibility, danger ensues.

When young Brady Skjei was in danger on Thursday night against the Winnipeg Jets, Marc Scheifele made sure all of Rangerstown held their breath for a few seconds prior to making sure Skjei was OK (video above).

However, the Jets paid for their transgressions when the combination of Brandon Pirri, Mats Zuccarello, Derek Stepan, and Chris Kreider capitalized on the ensuing power-play.

The beautiful feed by both Zuc and Stepan made sure Kreider had a tap-in for his seventh goal of the season.

Right now New York remains up 1-0 with a few minutes to go in the first period.
