It’s official: the New Jersey Devils have picked up their first win of the 2016-17 NHL season. It came on Tuesday night while hosting the Anaheim Ducks at The Rock, otherwise known as The Prudential Center.
It was New Jersey’s newest shiny toy, Taylor Hall, who made this one happen.
Trailing 1-0 after one period of play, Hall scored twice during a 4:11 span in the second period to give New Jersey a lead it wouldn’t relent.

Sami Vatanen was the lone goal-scorer for the Ducks, coming on a power-play.
Devils goaltender Cory Schneider stopped 23 of the 24 shots he faced on the night.
The Ducks now fall to a very disappointing 0-3-1 on the early season.
