Finally, the New York Mets have good news to report on the injury front. Jacob deGrom will return from the disabled list and start on Sunday. However, he will be somewhat limited.
Jacob deGrom will start Sunday's game for the #Mets. He'll be limited to around 75 pitches in his first start back from forearm soreness.

Lucas Duda, who has been out since mid May with a stress fracture in his back has also been activated for this weekend’s series against Minnesota. Like deGrom, he will also be somewhat limited, at least initially.
Lucas Duda will also return to the #Mets tomorrow. Sounds like he'll be limited to pinch-hitting at first. Still, big news for the team.

Thirdly, outfielder Juan Lagares has also been activated. Out since early in the second half with a torn ligament in his thumb, Lagares will serve primarily as a defensive specialist.
Terry Collins has said Juan Lagares will serve mostly as a defensive replacement, at least at first. He's not yet back to 100% at the plate.

Finally, Steven Matz will throw a bullpen on Saturday. If all goes well, his return will likely come in the future and before the season ends.
After all the injuries the Mets have sustained this season, they may be getting healthy at just the right time. Terry Collins deserves credit for keeping the club afloat through seemingly endless injuries, as does Sandy Alderson for finding veterans to fill holes (James Loney and Rene Rivera come to mind). The boost the team gets physically could also be just as big mentally.
