New York Giants Finally Escape The Injury Bug
Ed Mulholland, USATSI

The New York Giants will head into their week one matchup against the Dallas Cowboys with just one player on their injury report.

Though the New York Giants didn’t make it entirely out of the offseason unscathed, (expected contributors Will Johnson, Nikita Whitlock, and Matt LaCosse landed on IR during the preseason) they came pretty close for the first time in a while.

As the Giants head to square off against the Dallas Cowboys, they go with only one player ruled out. Defensive tackle Robert Thomas won’t travel with the team due to an illness.

Injury questions marks safety Darian Thompson, wide receiver Victor Cruz, and linebacker Johnathan Casillas will all be active. Head coach Ben McAdoo has done a great job keeping his team fresh this offseason. New York’s past slew of injuries has consistently hampered the team’s ability to be competitive.

McAdoo will hope to keep his squad close to this shape throughout the season’s duration. If successful, this team should absolutely be in contention for an NFC East title.
