The New York Yankees have placed outfielder Aaron Hicks on the 15-day disabled list with a strained hamstring.

While running out a ground ball on August 31 and straining his hamstring, the New York Yankees have placed outfielder Aaron Hicks on the 15-day DL.

The move is retroactive to September 1 and Hicks will likely make a rehab assignment for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre as they enter the International League postseason.

Hicks has had a relatively disappointing season as his OPS has declined from .721 in 2015 to .608 in his first year in the Bronx but he did turn around his play since Carlos Beltran was dealt to the Texas Rangers.

Since that trade, Hicks has slashed .288/.337/.450 with four home runs compared to .185/.249/.284 slash line with three home runs prior.
