Now that Jimmy Vesey is officially with the New York Rangers, let’s look at why there was so much excitement surrounding the Massachusetts native.

Over the last few weeks, the hockey world has focused on one name: Jimmy Vesey.

The Harvard product officially hit the free agent market at midnight on Tuesday and teams met with him for the next 72 hours. Fans from all over waited anxiously to hear where he would sign.

Well ladies and gentleman, the wait is finally over.

The New York Rangers announced earlier today that they came to terms with the 23-year old on an entry-level contract. The deal only adds to the exceptional group of forwards that the Rangers already possess.

Vesey will likely find himself on a line consisting of longtime friend Kevin Hayes and either rookie Pavel Buchnevich or Jesper Fast.

There has been a ton of hype regarding the 2016 Hobey Baker Award winner, but not many have actually seen this kid play.
