A report surfacing this morning indicated that recently released 41-year-old slugger Alex Rodriguez could be signing with the Miami Marlins.
According to Jim Bowden of ESPN, Alex Rodriguez — who was released by the New York Yankees following Friday’s game — was all but going to sign with the Miami Marlins once he cleared waivers.

However, recent updated reports have shown that nothing is imminent as of yet.

Given that A-Rod grew up in Miami, the move made sense yet would shock to the entire baseball landscape.
It appeared as if his illustrious career was all but over, leaving him four home runs short of 700. However, with the recent injury of Giancarlo Stanton, talks had apparently intensified.
Those talks were shut down by A-Rod’s publicist:
“I want to put all this talk about Alex playing for any team this season. It’s not happening.” — A-Rod spokesman Ron Berkowitz

It appears as if nothing ever comes easy with the former AL MVP.
