New York Yankees: Alex Rodriguez Hits First Home Run Since Injury (Video)

In his second game back from a hamstring injury, New York Yankees DH cranked a home run over the left-centerfield wall against the Tampa Bay Rays.

With many questions on if the New York Yankees truly need Alex Rodriguez when he returns from the disabled list, the 40-year old slugger let his bat do the talking.

In the top of the sixth inning in the first of three with the Tampa Rays in St. Petersburg, A-Rod sent one over the left field wall to make a 1-0 lead quickly turn into a 3-0 lead. The 422-foot two-run jack was his fourth home run in his last seven games played.

It was his sixth home run of the 2016 season and his 30th dinger in 109 games played at Tropicana Field. It was Rodriguez’s 56th career home run against the Rays overall which is the most against the Rays by any player.

It was also career number 693 for Rodriguez bringing him within 21 of the legendary Babe Ruth for third on the all-time home runs list.
