New York Yankees

It was reported earlier, prior to today’s ballgame, that Nick Swisher is expected to sing a minor league deal with the New York Yankees.

Nick could be “Swishalicious” for the New York Yankees yet again.

According to Meredith Marakovits of the YES Network, Nick Swisher has been working out at the Yankees complex in Tampa, and could sign a minor league deal within the next couple of days.

Swisher was with the team in from 2009-2012. During his tenure in the Bronx, he won a World Series, was an All-Star in 2010, and slugged 105 home runs while being a fan favorite.

Despite the porous play with the Atlanta Braves (.195/.349/.339 slash line), Swisher will be able to provide the Yankees with dependable depth in case of an injury to Mark Teixeira.

The switch-hitter can also play in the outfield and can DH if need be.

There will be more to come, but it appears as though a minor league deal is coming.
