After a strong opening week win, New York City FC follows with another solid performance against Toronto FC at Yankee Stadium.
- New York City FC 2 (1-0-1)
- Toronto FC 2 (1-0-1)
- MLS, Eastern Conference, Final, Box Score
- Yankee Stadium, Bronx, NY
For the 30,000 plus who went to Yankee Stadium on Sunday in support of the beloved New York City FC, they didn’t go home disappointed.
Sure, it wasn’t a win, but a 2-2 draw against Toronto FC isn’t anything to sneeze at. This is especially the case considering their 4-3 opening week win against the Chicago Fire started the 2016 MLS season on the right foot.
Today it was David Villa who came through not once, but twice in the match. He put home two goals at the 24th and 28th minute of the first half.
Next up for NYCFC will be Orlando City on Friday.
