What better way to get back into action than a visit to an opponent you beat soundly in your previous meeting?

That’s what the New Jersey Devils are expecting when they visit the Carolina Hurricanes to kick start their post-Christmas break schedule.

The two teams will play each other again the following Tuesday at the Prudential Center.

Hopefully, the team won’t have any rust or lack the energy playing two games in six days.

Kind of a quirky schedule; but, it is what it is.

At least, it’s against Carolina where they are able to breathe and not have to worry about a tough opponent coming up.

If you thought the Devils were just down here, you are right. The team traveled down south, as part of their Father’s Trip early this month.

The Devils took it to the Carolina lighting goalie Eddie Lack for five goals, team-leading scorer Mike Cammalleri with of those.

New Jersey’s backup Keith Kincaid, stopped 30 of 31 shots for his second win of the season.

It’s going to be important for the team to finish off the month of December on a high note.

Starting January 2nd, the Devils will face a gauntlet of playoff-caliber teams for the following two weeks that includes the Dallas Stars, Montreal Canadiens, Boston Bruins.

But, the team has shown this season that it doesn’t matter who they play. To New Jersey, the bigger they are, the harder they fall. RELENTLESS!
