Very rarely can an NHL game in November be considered epic in anticipation. There are just too many games over the course of an 82-game regular season to have it happen frequently.

Thanks to two hot-starts though, Madison Square Garden will tonight host a hockey game that might come close.

The New York Rangers, winners of six straight games, will host the St. Louis Blues who’ve won three straight and remain one of the top teams out West.

Not only have the Rangers won six straight, but their purest goal scorer, Rick Nash, finally tallied his first (true) goal in last Tuesday’s victory against the Carolina Hurricanes, via STATS LLC.:

“Our confidence is really high, and our confidence rolls right down from our goalie,” said forward Rick Nash, who had a goal and an assist in returning from a two-game absence caused by a sore back. “Hank’s one of the best goalies in the world, and it just kind of flows that way.”

St. Louis comes into tonight having won its first three games of their current four-game road trip. Their latest conquest came against the Devils in New Jersey on Tuesday.

Alain Vigneault’s lineups remain the same as last game, with Dan Boyle and Emerson Etem both in and Dominic Moore and Dylan McIlrath out.

The winner of this one will take a major step up as the team of the moment around the league.

First puck drop comes your way at 8 PM ET from MSG.
