It’s now official. The New York Mets will travel to Kansas City on Tuesday for Game 1 of the 2015 World Series to take on the Royals.

Although Fox Sports jumped the gun a bit, during the seventh-inning of Game 6 of the ALCS, it will, indeed, be the Kansas City Royals who’ll take on the New York Mets in the 2015 World Series.
It became official after Wade Davis survived a runners on the corner and no-out situation in the top of the ninth-inning. He struck out Dionner NoVarro and Ben Revere (on a questionable 2-1 count), then cemented the AL Pennant with by getting AL MVP candidate Josh Donaldson to ground out to third-base.
It’s interesting to think when both franchises tasted the World Championship:

The 2015 World Series, will of course, begin in the American League ballpark thanks to the AL All-Stars taking down the NL All-Stars this past July.

Incredibly, this will mark the first time in MLB history that two former expansion teams will ever face each other in the Fall Classic:

It is believed, via Marc Carig of Newsday, that Matt Harvey and Jacob deGrom will pitch Games 1 and 2 of the series, while Noah Syndergaard and Steven Matz will pitch Games 3 and 4. The only thing undecided is who’ll receive the Game 1 start, Harvey or deGrom.
The young phenom pitching of New York will have its hands full with that pesky, championship-caliber gamers of Kansas City.
It begins on Tuesday night.
