Against the Edmonton Oilers- February 9, 2016 at the Prudential Center

Even though the two teams would have met earlier in the season, this would be the second and last meeting.

The reason why I bring it up is that the Oilers come to town for the first time, with their shiny new toy. Devils fans will be able to get their first look at 2015’s first overall selection and, potential phenom, Connor McDavid.

Even before the NHL season has started, hockey analysts were already calling McDavid a “generational” player. By the time this game comes to the Prudential Center, we all should have a better grasp of how the young Oilers forward has handled the level of play in the NHL.

Rest assured, he won’t be singing with the Jersey Boys anytime soon. Especially, if Adam Larsson has anything to say about it.

At this game, New Jersey-ites will see what all the hoopla is when his kid comes to town. Also, they will welcome home one of their own. Martin Brodeur will be honored with his number 30 jersey being retired in a ceremony before the game.

Plenty to look forward to this night.

I'm a blogger trying to make it in this world. Have been, and always will be, a fan of the NYR and NYG. Writing for the New Jersey Devils cause, well, someone has to do it!
