Before last night night’s preseason matchup between the New Jersey Devils and New York Islanders, Devils twitter was in Regular Season mode.

Well, even though it’s preseason, the smack talking has begun.
That’s what happened on the New Jersey Devils official twitter account,

Later that night, the team won 4-2 over the Islanders, giving the Devils their first win of the preseason. Was a tactic like this good luck? Or, was it coincidence? It might be the latter, but you have to give “props” to the team’s approach. Perhaps, things like these should be done more, participate with social media, and help change the “old” atmosphere that existed under former general manager Lou Lamoriello. Who knows how far his reach had been in the organization. However, it is refreshing to see humor such as this. I say, whoever is in charge of the team’s twitter, keep doing this. Fans want to see more. In a time where things are changing, you have to adapt to what is at the present.
