Despite the Toronto Blue Jays winning game after game and stealing most of the headlines, the New York Yankees have proved to be real.

Let’s face it head on, they’ve stolen most of our hearts this season. The Toronto Blue Jays have turned around a joke and made it a reality. One that’s changed overall perception to the point that most believe they’ve already been crowned AL East champions of this MLB season.
The only problem for Toronto are these pesky New York Yankees who continue to win.
Even without Mark Teixeira (now on the DL with that troublesome shin), the Yanks are powering their way to wins. The main reason is the slight return of Alex Rodriguez from his worst dry spell of the season.
Brian McCann and A-Rod had many folks uttering the lovable and catch phrase which Yankees WFAN radio announcer John Sterling has made so famous.
It was truly “back to back, belly to belly” by the two in the sixth-inning off All-Star Chris Archer. Entering the inning down 3-0, these two bombs gave the Yankees a sudden 4-3 lead. One they wouldn’t relinquish as they went on to take the game today by a final of 6-4.

The win now puts the Yankees 17-games over .500 and keeps them within 1.5 of the Jays. Toronto smacked the Orioles around today 10-4.
Regardless of the injuries or the inconsistencies of the starting rotation, one thing is becoming very evident about Joe Girardi’s club. They never get too low.
It’s this even-keel mind set that allows them to never get too high or too low. They go about their business in a very professional manner. With Greg Bird filling in admirably at first-base, and Rodriguez finding himself, New York can continue riding one of the better bullpens in the league to the playoffs.
It truly won’t matter how much the Jays win, these Yanks won’t fall out of the race.
The Bombers will begin a three-game set against Baltimore at The Stadium Monday afternoon.
