Alex Rodriguez did it again by smacking his 24th home run of the season in the New York Yankees 6-2 win over the Texas Rangers.
The New York Yankees are now 15 games over .500 thanks to their 6-2 win over the Texas Rangers on Monday night. The storyline on this night is not that the Yanks keep on rolling, it’s that Alex Rodriguez keeps doing the impossible.
Celebrating his 40th birthday, Rodriguez smacked his 24th home run of the season in the top of the sixth inning off Rangers starter Matt Harrison. It was an opposite field laser-beam.

He now joins exclusive company in the form of Ty Cobb, Rusty Staub and Gary Sheffield as the only four players in MLB history to homer in their teems and in their 40s.

Didi Gregorius wasn’t too shabby himself. His 3-4 night produced four runs batted in which included a two run homer in the fifth.

Ivan Nova wasn’t top notch, but did manage to pick up his third victory on the season as he allowed just two runs over five innings.
