Long Island Nets head coach Ronald Norey along with players Bishop Daniels and Taaj Ridley join Schwartz on Sports.
After playing their inaugural season at Barclays Center, the Long Island Nets will begin their fist season at NYCB Live, home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Saturday, Nov. 4 with their historic home opener against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
Last season, the Nets called Brooklyn home while the Coliseum was undergoing renovations but now they are in their permanent home as professional basketball returns to Long Island.
At media day on Thursday, I had the chance to catch up with Long Island Nets Head Coach Ronald Nored along with a couple of Nets players former Rutgers guard Bishop Daniels and former Iona forward Taaj Ridley.
As part of the home opener on November 4th, Roosevelt, Long Island native Julius “Dr. J” Erving, who played for the New York Nets and led them to a pair of ABA titles in 1974 and 1976, will be on hand and will have his number 32 retired to the Coliseum rafters during pre-game ceremonies. The first 5,000 fans will receive a replica Dr. J jersey mini-banner.
