Spring training is currently underway for the New York Mets and some pivotal news has arisen thus far only a few days into camp.
The first set of news that has arisen from the New York Mets camp has revolved around veteran infielder Jose Reyes, who could potentially be training to become a utility man.

Sounds like the Mets hope to have Jose Reyes batting leadoff 3-4x per week. When he's not in the lineup? Mets unsure who might bat first.

According to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, Reyes is planning on taking reps all over the field this spring including shortstop, second base, third base and center field.
This could be very useful for the Mets in 2017 if Reyes can develop into a solid defender at each position and provide the team with some well-needed infield depth.
Some other news revolving Reyes suggests that the Mets want him to leadoff three to four times a week. However, it is unclear who will take that spot when the veteran is not in the lineup, most likely it will be Curtis Granderson.

This should be great news for Mets fans, David Wright will be playing catch on Sunday for the first time since June. While for the most part this is a promising sign, it leaves fans questioning what to expect from the team’s captain.
Wright most definitely will not be able to man third base every day and it is still unclear if he is still in well enough condition to still play a full season.
