For the fifth consecutive game, the Blueshirts have scored five goals. The latest triumph came on Sunday night at Madison Square Garden in a dominating 5-2 victory against the Winnipeg Jets.
Playing their second game in as many nights, the first period was a struggle. Hot Kevin Hayes scored early in the game with a delayed penalty providing an extra man:

But the young Jets fought back, eventually tying it with Patrik Laine‘s eighth goal of the season later in the first.
Once the second period began, however, it was all Rangers.
Mats Zuccarello, J.T. Miller, Jesper Fast, and Pavel Buchnevich all scored goals.

The snipe by Miller and finish by Buchnevich were especially special.
Hayes was named the first star of the night. With a goal tonight, he’s now collected nine points during the five-game win streak. Kevin Klein added two assists.
The win moves the Rangers to 20 points, two points clear of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Metropolitan Division. The win also marks off their fifth-straight win, five in eight days to be exact. Only the Montreal Canadiens, 21 points, have more points than the Rangers in the NHL.
Next up will be the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday night at the Garden.
