Mike Francesa mixes in some social commentary while trashing Jets
Do not ever say the big guy lacks range.
Mike Francesa did what he does best during an appearance on NBC Sports’ “Fanta in 60” program. He mocked the Jets. But this time he did so while also taking a big picture view of where mankind stands today.
“I don’t know if that’s real or not,” Francesa said when host John Fanta asked him for his thoughts on the team’s strange social media post about having four straight plays for 26 yards during last Sunday’s loss at the Bears.
Fanta quickly informed Francesa the post was real. But the WFAN legend and current BetRivers host was already cooking.
“In this day and age, we don’t know what’s real and what’s not,” he continued. “That’s a big problem in every part of news, including sports. But if it is real … let me just explain one thing to you, as someone who has been around the Jets, viewed the Jets and know the Jets very well. The Jets could screw up a one-car funeral, OK. They are a mess. They are terribly run from the owner on down. Nothing that they would do that is stupid would ever surprise me, OK. So the bottom line is if that is — and I don’t know if that’s real …”
Fanta then — again — told Francesa it is a real post. Twice more, in fact.
“I don’t know how you verify it,” Francesa said. “But if it is real, and in this day and age because of what we’re living through, we don’t know what’s real and what’s not real and that’s a big problem. But if it is, nothing they would do would ever surprise me.”
Back after this.
