In Game 1 of the Wednesday doubleheader against the Cardinals, the Mets offense endured its usual struggles, recording just two hits in a 4-1 loss.

The issues from the batter’s box overshadowed a decent outing from Marcus Stroman, who allowed seven hits and two earned runs while walking one batter and striking out six through five innings.

James McCann had the lone RBI for New York.
