Odell Beckham Jr. signed an autograph for a young fan at Metlife Stadium after finding out the child was a New York Giants fan.

When the New York Giants traded Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns, it created some bitter feelings. He felt “disrespected” by the team when they traded him, and former safety Landon Collins thinks the team wanted to change the culture with their offseason moves.

Despite a rocky relationship with team executives, Beckham Jr. was mostly liked by the fans, and he always had a lot of love for those who supported them. That hasn’t changed now that he’s with the Browns, as he has returned to Metlife Stadium to play the New York Jets.

While signing autographs during his pregame warm-up routine, he asked a young autograph seeker if they were a Jets fan. When the kid responded that they were Giants fans, Beckham Jr. signed the autograph with a smile and was graciously welcomed back by the fan.

Beckham’s antics may have driven ownership insane, and very well might have been what prompted his trade to Cleveland. But he was a scintillating talent on the field, and he always made time for fans, especially children.

Beckham Jr. remembers what it was like to be a young fan who loved the game and always tried to give back to his fans. He frequently signed autographs for kids at practice or in pregame moments, he’s been known to dance to entertain them, and he runs football camps to teach kids the fundamentals of football.

It will be curious to see what reception Beckham Jr. gets when/if he returns to play the Giants (the two teams will play next season but it’s unknown who the home team will be), but it’s clear that he still has a lot of love for the fans of his former team.
