The father of New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley, who grew up a New York Jets fan, plans to wear a Joe Namath jersey on Sunday.

Despite the New York Giants and New York Jets having won a combined three games this season, their matchup this Sunday is still very crucial. It’s a crosstown rivalry game that only occurs once every four years. That being said, whoever comes away with the victory will possess bragging rights until the year 2023.

Most football fans from New York already know who they’re rooting for. However, if you’re Saquon Barkley‘s dad, you’re in a predicament.

Alibay Barkley, the father of last year’s AP Offensive Rookie of the Year, grew up a Jets fan, so which team will he pull for? Well, turns out he’ll be rooting for his son, but wearing a Joe Namath Jersey in the process.

Barkley will be looking to surpass 100 yards on the ground for the first time since the team’s Week 2 loss to the Buffalo Bills. In that matchup, he rushed for 107 yards on 18 carries. He missed Weeks 4, 5, and 6 due to a high ankle sprain.

It’s an official home game for the Jets, which gives Big Blue nine games inside of MetLife Stadium this season instead of the normal eight.

Both the Giants and Jets are on losing streaks, the former finding themselves on a five-game and the latter on a three-game. The two struggling New York squads will kick off this Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. ET.
