New York Rangers center Mika Zibanejad will miss his third straight game when the team hosts the Ottawa Senators on Monday night.
The New York Rangers held an optional morning skate on Monday and Mika Zibanejad was not among the players who were on the ice.
Rangers head coach David Quinn confirmed that his No. 1 center would not play on Monday night against the Ottawa Senators at the Garden.
Zibanejad will miss his third consecutive game as a result of a hard hit he suffered in a loss against the Boston Bruins last week. The upper-body injury is not head-related but is said to be an issue with his neck.

Mika did skate on his own before the optional skate.
“He had another good day today. He’s still day-to-day and making progress,” Quinn told Vince A. Mercogliano of Loud.com
His availability for Wednesday’s game against Detroit will be determined as the date nears.
The Rangers projected lineup:
Artemi Panarin – Ryan Strome – Jesper Fast
Chris Kreider – Filip Chytil – Pavel Buchnevich
Brendan Lemieux – Brett Howden – Kaapo Kakko
Micheal Haley – Lias Andersson – Brendan Smith
Libor Hajek – Jacob Trouba
Brady Skjei – Anthony DeAngelo
Ryan Lindgren – Adam Fox
Alexandar Georgiev
Henrik Lundqvist
This will be the third game in a row that defenseman Marc Staal will be a healthy scratch and the third in a row Henrik Lundqvist will sit on the bench, as the backup to Alexandar Georgiev.
Lundqvist has already been named the starter for Wednesday’s nationally televised game on NBSCN against the Detroit Red Wings.
