The New York Jets will be without five players for their upcoming Sunday afternoon matchup against the winless Miami Dolphins.
If there’s a team that’s injury-plagued heading into their matchup on Sunday, it’s the New York Jets. At 1-6, the Jets have ruled out five players ahead of their game against the winless Miami Dolphins.
These five players are linebacker C.J. Mosley, center Ryan Kalil, cornerback Trumaine Johnson, cornerback Rontez Miles and wideout Josh Bellamy. Mosley is nursing a lingering groin injury that’s kept him out for much of this season. Kalil has injuries to his elbow and knee. Johnson experienced an ankle setback, Bellamy has foot and shoulder issues and Miles has both neck and hip injuries.
Mosley has only appeared in two games this year, having played in the Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills and the Week 7 loss to the New England Patriots. He has nine combined tackles, a pick-six, and a fumble recovery thus far.
This will be Kalil’s first missed game of the season, as he’ll be replaced by veteran Jonotthan Harrison. It’ll also be the first missed matchup for Johnson, Miles, and Bellamy. Johnson will be replaced by either Brian Poole or Nate Hairston.
The Jets are entering this game looking for just their second win of the year. Their lone win came against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 6 by a score of 24-22. Miami, on the other hand, is looking for its inaugural victory of 2019.
New York and the Dolphins will kick off in Miami on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
