The New York Giants will not have to face Detroit Lions feared defensive back Darius Slay on Sunday.

The New York Giants and Detroit Lions will play Sunday at Ford Field. We now Detroit will be without one of their key players, as cornerback Darius Slay has been ruled out.

Slay is out due to a hamstring injury that kept him out of practice all week. However, there has been speculation this could be a cover-up as he “personally wouldn’t care” if the Lions traded him during next week’s NFL Trade Deadline.

The frustration comes after Detroit traded starting safety Quandre Diggs to the Seahawks earlier this week, and Slay took to Twitter to voice his displeasure.

Regardless, the Giants will no longer have to face the two-time pro bowler, which should help former Lion Golden Tate get some space in the receiving game.

In addition, to Slay being out, the Lions ruled rookie cornerback Amani Oruwariye and defensive tackle out with injuries, meaning Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley and company will be facing up against a banged-up defense.
