Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott will reportedly be on a snap count against the New York Giants this weekend.

On Wednesday, reports came out that the Dallas Cowboys and their star running back Ezekiel Elliott came to terms on a new deal. Zeke had held out all of training camp and preseason in hopes for an extension. Now, he has a new six-year, $90 million deal that’ll keep him in Dallas through the 2026 season.

Elliott will suit up for the opening game against the New York Giants this weekend. However, he’ll reportedly be on a snap count limit, per Jane Slater of NFL Network.

If Zeke proves to be as talented this week as he always is, and the Giants’ young front doesn’t deliver, he’ll still probably have near or over 100 yards rushing. Therefore, don’t be too alarmed right now if you have him on your fantasy team.

Elliott will go up against young guns Dexter Lawrence, B.J. Hill, and Dalvin Tomlinson on the Giants defensive line. Big Blue will also have second-year linebackers Lorenzo Carter and Tae Davis in the lineup, as both top the depth chart at their respective positions.

Zeke will be looking to improve even more from the 2018 season that saw him come in second in the league with 2,001 yards from scrimmage. Only Giants running back Saquon Barkley had more with 2,028.

The Giants and Cowboys will kick off at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday, Sept. 8. It’ll be the fourth time in the last five years the two teams meet at AT&T Stadium in their opening game.
